Midweek Randomness, take 41

Its so hard getting back into the swing of things after the holidays. No more late nights, followed by late mornings, no more days off to watch movies and work on random organization projects around the house, no more daily baking, followed by hourly snacking. Its back to reality, which is pretty great too, but I already miss my family that have all returned to WI, my cookies (that have been booted to the freezer), and my comfy bed.

Before we talk work, lets talk more about break. I’m a bit crazy and at times have a hard time relaxing. Don’t get me wrong, I do love my couch, but I also like keeping busy and knowing I accomplished something when the day comes to a close. So over the break I kept busy in between movie and cookie sessions and crossed off several house projects that have been nagging at me. Like, painting my dining room from blue to green. This one turned into quite the task that spread across most of the vacation and that I totally couldn’t have done without my mom, who is a rockstar at projects like this. We did some here, some there, and finally finished this last weekend. Riiiight before I opened the shutters and found that the window sills are painted blue. GAH! So back at it this next weekend to really finish up and knock out the last of the blue. My favorite part was most definitely decorating the newly painted room. It went from blue with almost no decor to some lovely (and bright!) shades of green with lots of character and lots of frames. Next up was organizing the game cupboard. Totally random, but made sense after getting several new boardgames for Christmas. Jenga! Yahtzee! The hubby even tackled one of his own random organization projects…the overflowing junk drawer. Added bonus, he picked out and purchased little bins to organize the contents of the drawer. Hello, he’s converting to my craziness! Yes.

Before (during painting prep) and after phone pics of the dining room! Yes, there is a mirror. And yes, I will put my own pictures in the frames one day ;)

This week I’ve been gawking at, I mean working on, Nicole and Jeff’s beautiful wedding that I shot over the break. Such a beautiful couple that sure knew how to plan a celebration. It was an amazing day even with the clouds and spotty rain drops, and one of those weddings where I found feeling like family by the end of the night. Came across this image today that I just love and made me giggle a little too (at myself of course). The beautiful bride getting into her dress in my reflection.

Oh yes I did: wear two different shoes to church on Christmas Eve. No no, not on purpose AT ALL. You know those times when you try on two totally different shoes to see what looks better? Yeah, I did that and then walked out the door.

Currently: starting the book The Host by Stephenie Meyer (the same author of the Twilight series). Have heard from a couple people that it was a good read and since I loved Twilight so much, its a must for me!

Conversation between me and my little brother, Jacob, as he gets home from school…

Jacob: Are you leaving for a photo shoot?
Me: No.
Jacob: Did you just get home from a photo shoot?
Me: No. Why?
Jacob: Well why do you look so good then?

Haha! The life of working at home in PJ’s and no make-up. Made me giggle. FYI, I had a meeting that morning :)

I can’t believe Christmas is in less than a week? How did this happen?! I know I know, I probably say this every year, but man it always sneaks up. However, I am happy to say that I am ready for Christmas and very excited for it. I’m looking forward to celebrating this year at home, having family visit from WI (if they can make it through the blizzard tomorrow), and just relaxing and taking it all in with those that mean so much to me. I hope you can all do the same!

Who is already dreading taking down their beautiful tree and decorations? Me. I love them. Want them to stay. Forever.

Someone told me that the first step is to admit that you have a problem. So folks, I have a problem. A serious addiction to Reese’s trees. Yes, we all already knew this, but it seems to be an at an all time high this Reese’s holiday season. If you see me over the holidays and wonder what looks different? Yeah, probably the after effects of the trees ;) And remember, in another week or two Reese’s hearts will be on shelves near you, and me…

I have officially finished editing all my sessions and weddings for 2012. Its feels soooooo good to say and a relief to get it all done before the holidays. I didn’t however say I was finished shooting…I still have Nicole and Jeff’s wedding on December 30th that is going to be AMAZING! They are an adorable couple, super sweet, and their venue (Arizona Grand) is also pretty amazing. Can’t wait to see these two on their wedding day and finish up 2012 with them!

Enjoy the holidays and each other!
