Mimi’s Favorite Things | September 2013

WINNER UPDATE: Random.org picked commenter #8: Fresh fruit basket for Michelle! :D

For over a week, every day on my to-do list there it was, looming to get done…Mimi’s Favorite Things. Usually, I have no problem putting together the post and finding something to share. I’ve either purchased something recently that I’m lovin or I walk around the house until something clicks and I get to it. Buuuut this month NOTHING was coming to me. Well actually, lots of things were coming to me, but they all have to do with one little…baby. Baby?! Whaaat? Oh, did you miss that announcement? Check it out here :) But the last thing I wanted to do was bore my blog crowd with 9 months of baby talk. And what can you really give away related to pregnancy or babies that everyone would want, with or without a baby? So I’ve been avoiding it and I even thought as I woke up today, I just won’t do one this month…wah waah waaaah. Then my brilliant sister made the suggestion (probably jokingly) to do a fruit basket. Huh – fruit basket? Now if you are my Facebook friend or follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that since we announced we are expecting we’ve been doing weekly fruit/veggie comparison pictures documenting the baby’s growth and my belly growth. It’s been a fun and silly thing to look forward to each week and I love getting calls/messages from friends and family days before…what fruit is it this week?! ♥

And if you’re curious, we’ve gone from an orange to a mango in the last 4 weeks :)

So although I laughed at first, it really is the perfect thing. My little growing fruit baby is all I’ve been thinking about and my meals and snacks the last 4 months have been overrun with fruit. Sooooooo…you got it! A fruit basket. Who doesn’t like fruit? And these days, it really is my favorite thing! And I better do it now while the fruit size is manageable. Probably pretty pricey shipping a watermelon! ;)

Now get to it and enter!

When: You can enter now through Monday, September 30th. The winner will be randomly picked and announced on Tuesday!

Cute Flagstaff Families | Arizona Portrait Photographer

What’s better than spending the afternoon with some of my favorite families? Well, spending it up north in the mountains with these cute families! So nice to escape the heat, see some green, try a delicious burger joint (had to add that one), and catch up with these guys. Enjoy!

It’s been quiet around here.

I know, it has been very quiet around here the last few months. But I promise I have a good excuse…

Yes yes, that is the start of a baby bump! We are expecting our first little one in February and couldn’t be happier ♥ We found out earlier this summer and it still feels a bit surreal. Does it ever really set in?! But we are oh so excited, happy, nervous, and mostly just feel really blessed :)

Today marks 16 weeks and I am feeling great. The first three months I was very, very thankful that I did not get any sickness, but I was tired and had close to zero energy…the reason behind my quiet, hermit-like summer. I took morning and afternoon naps, lived in yoga pants (I guess this isn’t too out of the norm), despised make-up and grocery shopping, and was a picky eater. Now I’m into the 2nd trimester, have much more energy, can eat a pizza to myself (learned this last night), and am ready to take on the fall busy season with my new little helper.

Mimi’s Favorite Things | August 2013

WINNER UPDATE: Random.org picked commenter #8: Jessi will be Jazzercisin! :)

This year I’ve been trying to get into a better, more consistent workout schedule. Always a struggle with the consistent part! I do yoga regularly, but also wanted to mix in a more active, cardio workout. I tried several classes at my gym and really wanted to like Zumba because I liked the level of intensity and that it had the fun dance aspect to it, but I just don’t have the flair for Latin moves. Period. Looking for something along those lines, I happened upon the Jazzercise website. Jazzercise? Whaaaaat? Wasn’t that a popular 80′s workout that came on VHS with ladies wearing leotards and leg warmers?! Perhaps it was. My mom being one of those ladies rockin’ the leg warmers ;) Buuuut it’s also still around today and there are Jazzercise studios all over! I was definitely intrigued, so I looked into my local studio and decided to give it a shot.

And I LOVED IT!!!!!! Its fun, its an awesome workout that goes by fast, and it gets muscles working you didn’t even know you had! Each class is a mix of dance and muscle toning set along to fun music. The instructors are a hoot and they always incorporate new moves and new routines so you don’t get bored. My first class was a little rough as I got down some of their key moves, but I caught on. Sa-shaaay Emily!

As you might guess, this month I’m buying me and YOU a set of jazzercise home workout DVDs (in a cute leopard print bag)! As you can see, one of the DVDs is Latin Live. Oh my, but I’ll give it a try and so will you :)

When: You can enter now through Friday, August 23rd. The winner will be randomly picked and announced over the weekend!
Who: Anyone and everyone that loooves Emily Snitzer Photography, and lives in the continental US with a valid postal address.
How: All you need to do is comment below on this blog post, and be sure to enter your email address. Don’t worry, your email will only be visible to me. Easy beans, peeps!

And I can’t forget to thank my fall bride, Kayla, for posting about Jazzercise on Facebook! So happy it found me :)
