I can’t believe this baby girl is 3 months already! She is the sweet little newborn that you may remember from the book shelf, with vampire and Harry Potter books. Ring a bell?

We had so much playing around in the orange groves and it was so beautiful as the trees were in bloom. I just love this family and am soooo in love with what we got from the session. Orange blossoms, sweet light, smiley baby, and happy parents…doesn’t get much better than that :)

Happy Friday and thanks for stopping by!

I’m getting a little nervous for the Arizona summer as my home office starts to heat up and I find myself already whiney getting into my hot car. I MUST get over this and accept that it is only going to get 20-30 degrees warmer in the coming months. Aaaahhh, so hard to accept. I thought it gets easier each year, but I really don’t think it does! Anyone else experiencing the “summer is coming” anxiety?? :)

April is going to be a busy month around here. Have several family sessions planned and three weddings – two local and one in Cancun. Yes, you heard me right – Cancun!! I am so very excited for this one as it is such a beautiful, fun location and it is also some good friends of mine. Watch for some beachy goodness towards the end of April.

Song of the week: We Are Young by Fun. Here is a cool acoustic version of the song, check it out. We were supposed to go down to Tucson to see these guys in concert last weekend, BUT sadly we waited too long to get tickets and it was sold out by the time we tried. So instead, I’ve just been listening to this album pretending we made it to the concert :) A little background on this band, the lead singer is formally of the band The Format, and is an Arizona native – woot! Movie/show of the week: Haven’t watched any really great ones, but we did watch Real Steel. By the name and cover I sort of blew it off, but it was actually pretty good for a fighting robots movie and it had a cute father-son storyline. Every movie needs a little “cute” to get a thumbs up from me :)

Lastly, here is a video I made this week of some of my favorite wedding images of 2011. It was so amazing seeing the slideshow for the first time after I put it together. It honestly made me tear up, 2011 was such a great year for my business and I am so thankful for all the amazing couples that were a part of it. So very blessed.

Happy Wednesday!

Ooooh, how I loved this wedding! Can you tell from the crazy amount of images I chose? :)

Randi and Silas were married in downtown Mesa at Inside the Bungalow. This venue is a hidden gem that is an adorable coffee shop by day and an amazing little event venue by night. Randi and Silas are good friends of ours, so it was an extra special day being able to capture this time for them and also to snap pictures of my hubby and other friends as guests :)

Check out my favorites, all made possible by…

Ceremony and reception – Inside the Bungalow
Catering – Heavenly Scent Catering
Florist – Zuzu’s Petals
Bridal Gown – Brilliant Bridal
Bridesmaids Dresses – Wedding Emporium
Make-up – Stephanie Nault
Entertainment – All American DJ

Chad Trapeur w/ All-American DJ - These are amazing photos Emily! That was a fun night wasnt it?!!! Thank you so much for sharing them. I hope we have the opportunity to work together again in the future.

As you can tell by the location (ASU campus), some of the attire (ASU gear), and the sun devil pitch fork gestures, this family loooves ASU :)

Just loved this session and how relaxed and fun it was! Large group pictures can be challenging at times, but this crew made it super easy and because of that, we got some amazing pictures to show for it!

Happy Friday :)

The last few days I’ve been knee deep in tax craziness, and now that I have my own business I am ready to proclaim that… I despise tax time! Arrg! But I’m also happy to report that I am done. Well, not done with my taxes. But I’m done preparing my taxes and financials for my accountant to now DO my taxes. Phew, thank goodness they do that part!

This week I have also been staying up way too late every night with my phone flashlight app and my current read, The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I am only about a quarter of the way through, but I would already highly recommend and I’m totally addicted to it (like I usually get once I get into a book). Just talking about it now makes me want to go hop into bed and continue on. BUT I won’t because my dogs, currently laying under my desk, are here to pull me out crazy thinking like that. Oh, the struggles of working from home! ;)

Speaking of reading, do I need to read The Hunger Games that I am hearing SOOO much about?!

Last week at a local photographer meetup, PUG, I won a free year of Showit!! Showit is a portfolio website application that I’ve been looking into for several months, but haven’t committed on. So I’m totally stoked that I will now be building an amazing portfolio website that comes with lots of fun extras for my business. Watch for it over the next couple months :) If you are a photographer and don’t have Showit, check out their site. Or if you’re interested in a local PUG meetup, visit here.

And here are a couple of my favorite shots from last weekends sessions. The first one, little Miss K modeling in my new photo prop. Just ♥
