2 words…hot yoga. 2 more words…holy moly! I have always been a yoga fan, but I didn’t think the trend of hot yoga would EVER get me. I had no desire to try it, at all. Buuuut, this week I tried and not at all on purpose. I wanted to start my work week off right, so I went to test out a yoga studio by my house bright and early on Monday morning. I arrived, signed up for a two week trial at the front, and then went back to find the yoga room. And then I entered the yoga room…the VERY hot and VERY humid yoga room. I had wondered why they required you to bring a large towel to every class and now I knew, because you were about to seriously sweat your butt off. I had a quick chat with the yoga instructor and learned that all their classes were “hot” and 80 minutes long. I wanted to run, but I was already there with my large towel, so I sucked it up and got ready for class. Aaaaaand let me just say, it was AMAZING! I loved it. Every part of it. So relaxing, yet intense, so rejuvenating, and you really release all the tension and thoughts running through your head right along with every ounce of sweat. I walked out looking like a hot mess, but feeling oh so good and ready to tackle my Monday. So now I’ve tried hot yoga, LOVED it, and even returned this morning for class #2. Whew!! The studio I am trying out is Sumits Yoga Gilbert, but they have several throughout the Phoenix area and a few others across the country. Very cool environment, cute and clean space, new and fun music, and great instructors from what I’ve experienced so far.

Last week I did something huge and finally made decisions on our kitchen makeover, AND scheduled the work. YAY me! It only took my indecisive self six months to decide on everything, but at least now I know I am getting exactly what I want. I’ve had a lot of time to sit on it :) Work will be starting this month…new crown molding, granite counters, larger island with wood block counter, and refinished cabinets. Then we’ll add all the final touches, like new cabinet hardware, a pretty back-splash, and new paint on the walls. I love projects and I can’t wait to see and play in my new kitchen!

This last weekend we enjoyed the 10th annual Gourd Festival. As I’ve talked about before, the hubby’s family owns and runs a gourd farm down in Casa Grande and every year they host the Gourd Festival. It attracts thousands of people from all over the country to come and see the latest in gourd art, buy some dried gourds for their own arts and crafts, and eat some delicious fry bread and snow cones :) Yum!! If this has sparked your interest, you’ll have to check it out next February!

Oh yes I did: visited Whole Foods Market for the first time. And yes, I left with lots of delicious, fresh, local produce. It was more than I usually spend (which was expected), but I must say, it is much tastier too. Fo reals.

Currently: reading the book FISH! and next up is The Power of Positive Thinking. Wanted to read a few business/inspirational books and these are nice, easy reads that came recommended.

Will kick off 2013 weddings this weekend with Mandy and Matt! Wooooo!

I woke up at 5am this morning disoriented and distraught after having my very first “wedding nightmare”. This foggy nightmare involved me showing up late to a wedding and THEN after arriving, falling asleep in the woods and missing most of the festivities. Really??? I worry when I wake, and apparently when I sleep too.

The husband invaded my space yesterday by staying home sick from work and setting up sick camp in front of the TV in MY office. Ok, my office is in the middle of our loft and it does have the comfiest couch in the house. My TLC day time TV was quickly changed to Doomsday Preppers and the sound of sneezes and sniffles. When I asked what his symptoms were he replied, and I quote “the back of my eyes hurt, my skin is hot, and my nose is stuffy”. Oooh yes, the dreaded man cold ;) No kisses or cuddles until this man is healthy!

After failing to get into the book The Host for the 2nd time, I’ve decided to take a little fiction break and dig into some business books. I think it would be a good way to start the year and give me a kick in the pants to make some positive changes for life and business. Soooo, where should I start? Business book must reads?

Oh yes I did: cut off my unlimited Diet Coke supply. I’m on day 19 of allowing myself ONE a day. What was I thinking?! I dunno. Lots more water drinking and I may have to finally take up coffee.

Currently: listening to Mumford & Sons Sigh No More for the first time. This was released in aaahh-hhmm 2010 and they have a newer album (Babel) that came out last year that I’ll also have to check out. Love their sound…definitely some folk, a little bit of country, and very unique. I’m envisioning a really handsome Irish gentlemen serenading it to me today.

And since no post is complete without a picture, a couple shots my 12 year old little brother snapped at the lake over the weekend. Love his composition ;) And yes, we go to the lake in January in Arizona. hehe

WINNER UPDATE: Random.org picked the #8 commenter: Ashley! YAY!!

So its been coooold! And from what I’ve heard from friends and family around the country, its been cold everywhere. But for those that haven’t heard, here in Arizona, it has been FREEZING! Literally freezing. Like below 30 degrees. Like ice on the sidewalk. For some maybe that sounds warm for January, but for us desert folk, its pretty strange. In all honesty though, the chilly temperatures have actually been a bit refreshing…get a real taste of winter (minus the snow), unusual amounts of snuggling, lots of slipper wearing, and surprising the always toasty husband with my freezing cold feet when I get into bed at night :)

This month was a perfect time to share something to keep you all warm, keep your feet comfy, and avoid too much freezing cold footsie…

Billige liverpool fodboldtrøjer - Merely wanted to state I am just relieved I stumbled in your web site!|

Nicole and Jeff were married on 12.30.12 at the Arizona Grand Resort in Phoenix. A beautiful resort, a gorgeous couple that is equally as sweet, and a group of family and friends that not only made their day what it was (AMAZING), but also made me feel like part of the celebration. You can read about how these two met and see their engagement session here!

The day turned out to be a chilly day with occasional sprinkles. Just enough rain to make it lucky, but not enough to affect our pictures or the outdoor ceremony :) It was a destination wedding for all and the bride and groom and all their guests have now returned home to Canada to begin their next chapter as husband and wife. Enjoy their story…

Ceremony + reception – Arizona Grand Resort
Officiant – Reverand Michelle
Florist – LUX Florist
Gown – La Bella Bridal
Makeup – Makeup by Amanda

Entertainment – Valley Mix Entertainment

Thanks to my 2nd shooter, Diana, and all the vendors that help make it such a beautiful day!

Juventus tröja - Much thanks! It is definitely an great web page!

Its so hard getting back into the swing of things after the holidays. No more late nights, followed by late mornings, no more days off to watch movies and work on random organization projects around the house, no more daily baking, followed by hourly snacking. Its back to reality, which is pretty great too, but I already miss my family that have all returned to WI, my cookies (that have been booted to the freezer), and my comfy bed.

Before we talk work, lets talk more about break. I’m a bit crazy and at times have a hard time relaxing. Don’t get me wrong, I do love my couch, but I also like keeping busy and knowing I accomplished something when the day comes to a close. So over the break I kept busy in between movie and cookie sessions and crossed off several house projects that have been nagging at me. Like, painting my dining room from blue to green. This one turned into quite the task that spread across most of the vacation and that I totally couldn’t have done without my mom, who is a rockstar at projects like this. We did some here, some there, and finally finished this last weekend. Riiiight before I opened the shutters and found that the window sills are painted blue. GAH! So back at it this next weekend to really finish up and knock out the last of the blue. My favorite part was most definitely decorating the newly painted room. It went from blue with almost no decor to some lovely (and bright!) shades of green with lots of character and lots of frames. Next up was organizing the game cupboard. Totally random, but made sense after getting several new boardgames for Christmas. Jenga! Yahtzee! The hubby even tackled one of his own random organization projects…the overflowing junk drawer. Added bonus, he picked out and purchased little bins to organize the contents of the drawer. Hello, he’s converting to my craziness! Yes.

PINBefore (during painting prep) and after phone pics of the dining room! Yes, there is a mirror. And yes, I will put my own pictures in the frames one day ;)

This week I’ve been gawking at, I mean working on, Nicole and Jeff’s beautiful wedding that I shot over the break. Such a beautiful couple that sure knew how to plan a celebration. It was an amazing day even with the clouds and spotty rain drops, and one of those weddings where I found feeling like family by the end of the night. Came across this image today that I just love and made me giggle a little too (at myself of course). The beautiful bride getting into her dress in my reflection.

Oh yes I did: wear two different shoes to church on Christmas Eve. No no, not on purpose AT ALL. You know those times when you try on two totally different shoes to see what looks better? Yeah, I did that and then walked out the door.

Currently: starting the book The Host by Stephenie Meyer (the same author of the Twilight series). Have heard from a couple people that it was a good read and since I loved Twilight so much, its a must for me!
