Midweek Randomness, take 34

2 years ago, in October 2010, I was shooting my very first wedding…so nervous about capturing such an important day for two people, but thrilled that someone found my work and wanted ME to be the one to photograph their day. I had no idea the spark this would ignite and how it would shape the path of my life and career. Now, here I am, doing what I love and loving every minute of it. Feeling blessed :)

September and October usually translate to a lot more couch time. Well yes, there is of course football that draws us there, but there is also all the amazing shows that return for the fall season. And waaaaay too many amazing shows I should add. Here’s a quick list of the ones that we watch, in order of addiction. I’d love to hear what shows you are lovin!

Hart of Dixie *
Grey’s Anatomy *
Private Practice *
Boardwalk Empire
8 million different fishing shows **

P.S. The hubby doesn’t watch those that are starred
P.P.S. I don’t watch those that are doubled starred :)

So whats going on with my kitchen remodel? Well, a whole lot of nothin right now. I’ve been trying to decide on everything before we start the actual work. I have the main things figured out, like white cabinets and black granite + wood countertop. But the backsplash, oooooh the backsplash. I know it doesn’t seem like that big of a deal or something that you could decide on and do after the kitchen is done, but I of course think it matters to decide now and I just can’t make up my mind. To start, me and the hubby have COMPLETELY different taste in tile. So I first have to decide how much I want him to dislike it :) Then there is the color and shape. I feel like the color of the backsplash totally determines what color I will paint the walls. So yeah, I’m stuck. Comments? Paaaaaa-leeeeease.

My picks:

The hubby’s picks:

And lastly, a couple fun pictures for you from Lynette and Rob’s middle school engagement shoot! Happy Wednesday!

Kirby - I tell my husband the same thing I did when we were wedding planning as when we come home decor shopping now: “feel free to come, don’t feel free to ask questions.” Happy wife = happy life!

Janie - We’re loving Boardwalk Empire too. We don’t get Showtime so I’m totally bummed to be missing Homeland!

For the back splash I like your 1st or 3rd pick. I like the 1st one because it’ll add a subtle pop of color and the 3rd is more of a classic look. I love the shape of those tiles! We just finished our back splash and I wish I had found those!

Pam - I vote for tile #1. Love the colors and shape! Hope your doing well lady! It’s been too long. Let me know what your schedule looks like towards in the next few weeks. We’re overdue for our baby date!

marisa - your first pick seems to be the best compromise between what you like and what he likes. :) But personally, I love the classic white subway tile. can’t wait to see what you end up with! :)
