Midweek Randomness, take 33

The last few weeks I have been doing something very very strange…running! I do like to exercise regularly, but I’m usually not one to jog or run. Well not since middle school cross country that is ;) Its been a slow start, but I’m beginning to pick up the speed and do less and less walking. I’ve started by doing 5 minutes of running and then 1 minute of walking, repeat until exhausted. I’m starting to extend the running time and slowly take out the walking. Once I get better, MAYBE I’ll share my times. Hey, that’s some good motivation. Cheers to more running as Arizona continues to cool!!

This time of year all my Midwest friends and family start to post pictures of the fall (something us AZ folk don’t really get), and this makes me miss that home oh so much. The cool weather, the crisp fresh air, beautiful colors, snuggly sweatshirts, getting out the cute fall boots…aaaahhh yes. To try and cure this, I think we are going to have to escape up to the White Mountains this month for our dose of pine trees and cooler weather. If you’re in the Midwest right now, go outside, breathe in the fresh cool air, take in the beautiful trees, and smile :)

Last week I discovered an amazing album from 2008 (that’s how I roll when it comes to music discovery) and I am so in looooove with it. When I find a new artist or album that I like, it usually consists of days and days (sometimes weeks) of listening to it on repeat until my next music discovery. So that is the case for this week with Bon Iver’s album, For Emma, Forever Ago. Thanks to Wikipedia, I found out that the band is from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, very close to where I grew up. It was also written and recorded independently by the lead singer while he was alone in a cabin in WI for 3 months in the dead of winter. Crazy! Makes the album that much cooler.

This week I have an engagement session at an elementary school. Yes, for reals! Its where they met. Awwwwwwwww, I know. It is the sweetest thing ever. I can’t wait! I also have a family session with a super cute, stylish, and happy fam. Its going to be a good week :)
